Rival Sons To Play Shows With Guns N' Roses In Europe

RIVAL SONS have been confirmed as the main support act for GUNS N' ROSES for two shows in Europe this summer.

RIVAL SONS will be joining GUNS N' ROSES at Ahoy in Rotterdam, Netherlands on June 4th, and then at the Warsteiner Hockey Park in Mönchengladbach, Germany on June 8th.

RIVAL SONS guitarist SCOTT HOLIDAY comments:

"What a great, great opportunity to get these shows supporting Guns N' Roses!  Germany has been great to us, and this will only help us reach out to so many more people over there.  As far as Guns goes... I remember the first time those guys were ever on MTV, me and my best mate were watching.  A total shock to the system, and to me and my friends' lives.  We were really young little dudes, but we already loved our rock 'n' roll, and Guns just reeked of reality and grit... I mean they were literally very dirty.  And we LOVED it.  They ushered in a lot more 'real' and dirtiness to a scene that had become way too fruity-pants.  As a wee guitar-playing lad, I couldn't get enough of Appetite For Destruction and Lies.  Ready to see and hear some of those first tunes played live!"

P.O.D.’s first video, “Lost In Forever,” from the band’s new studio album, Murdered Love premiered exclusively at VEVO.com – view HERE.  The video was directed by Spence Nicholson.  “Lost In Forever” is available for download on iTunes HERE. 

Murdered Love (Razor & Tie) is the first new studio album in four years and is now confirmed for release on July 10^th2012.  This album is P.O.D.’s long-awaited follow-up to When Angels & Serpents Dance. Nations Afire Set Your Speakers Ablaze With "I Am An Army"!

SoCal rockers Nations Afire have premiered a new video for their high-energy, anthemic first single, “I Am An Army,” from their forthcoming album, The Ghosts We Will Become, on BlankTV.com.

Nations Afire recently wrapped up recording of their debut full-length album, The Ghosts We Will Become, at the legendary Blasting Room Studios in Fort Collins, CO; the same studio that was responsible for the past three Rise Against albums and countless other classic releases from bands like NOFX, Propagandhi and ALL.  After the album was completed the band returned home to Southern California to self-direct and produce the first video from the album for the single “I Am An Army.”

“Knowing so many creative people in the music and film industry we decided to call on a few close friends to help us make the video we wanted to make,” explains vocalist Nik Hill.

Nations Afire called on their photographer/cinematographer friend Rob Wallace (irisconcepts.net), who has worked on videos for Pennywise, Strung Out, Death By Stereo, to film and friend of band Tim Lunsford to edit the video.

“We found a great location near downtown L.A. and put together a concept that would showcase the song and have some cool visuals to go along with the performance piece,” Hill added.

 

Nations Afire is a four piece band that features current and former members of some of the most influential punk and hardcore bands from the past decade.  Guitarist Chris Chasse has an impressive resume that includes a tenure with Rise Against (Siren Song of the Counter Culture ‘04 and The Sufferer & the Witness '06).  Vocalist/guitarist Nik Hill and bassist Brett Rasmussen are both long standing members of the Orange County hardcore outfit Ignite and drummer Todd Hennig was the percussive force behind Death By Stereo for three albums.

 

Bassist Brett Rasmussen explains the band's excitement in making their own video. “I think we have all done just about everything there is to do in regards to being in a band like; writing, recording, producing, playing live, touring and so forth, but none of us had ever made a full production video ourselves. It was a welcomed challenge and to be honest, ended up being a lot of fun!”

 

Nations Afire has some local shows booked in Southern California in May/June and are in the process of booking a European tour for August.

Only six months were needed to give birth to this full-length, monstrosity with a desperate urban feeling, bridge between the knife-in-the-heart crudeness of Eyehategod or Kickback and the majestic darkness of bands like Deathspell Omega or Thou. With a sound carrying smells of pissy streets and the dry blood you get for a sidelong glance, producer Francis Caste have perfectly catched the gist of these 38 minutes, recreating this forced apnea in a bile tank with a no frills approach.
